Alpha Estate’s Malagouzia grapes (pronounced Mah-lah-gou-ZYA) come from a single vineyard site, known as “Turtles” because it is a nesting site for the local turtle population. The wine spends two months on its fine lees or “sur lie” imparting a creamy texture and added complexity to the final wine. A strong and lively nose of grapefruit, nectarine and hints of almond blossom. This richly textured wine is very flavoursome, has superb length, balance and plenty of finesse.
