Being just south of the 45th parallel, close to the most southerly vineyards on Earth, Bannockburn has a cool climate ideally suited for the production of elegant Pinot Noir. This Felton Road expression is a blend of the estate’s four Bannockburn vineyards which were chosen for their exceptional combination of slope, climate and deep glacial soils. Meticulous farming without recourse to chemicals and observing the natural rhythms of the ecosystems, combined with “hands off” winemaking, results in a wine that expresses a true sense of place. The aroma leads to a bright and lifted combination of red and dark fruits with considerable florals. On the palate, there is a combination of transparency, power and tension. The silky entry of spice and savoury notes expand to pure, deep fruits, braced with acidity, but luscious
throughout. The frame is a finely woven latticework: intricate and detailed with a
