According to legend, Frangelico was first made by the monks of northern Italy over 300 years ago, hence the cassock-shaped bottle and it is considered that the name comes from the shortening of Father Angelico – a Franciscan friar rumoured to have first created the drink. An Italian classic, Frangelico is a rich nutty liqueur crafted using the finest Tonda Gentile hazelnuts from Piedmont. These plump hazelnuts are harvested, shelled, toasted, crushed and steeped in alcohol.
