Description
Nicolas Potel set up his négociant label Maison Roche de Bellene in 2008 and his unrivalled local network of thoroughly reliable grower-suppliers allows him to source fruit from the most sought-after parcels in the Côte. The emphasis of Maison Roche de Bellene is on well-sited venerable vines and viticulture and providing a source of attractive, well-priced Burgundy wines. Nicolas chose the name ‘Bellene’ in honour of the ancient Roman name for Beaune. Santenay is the most southerly village appellation of the Côte d’Or and contains a number of Premier Cru vineyards providing a good source of reliable and good-value red Burgundy. Sourced from vines over 45 years old, the Maison Roche de Bellene Santenay ‘La Comme’ is a ripe Premier Cru that combines rich fruit, fine structure and incredible length.
