Description
The Barolo Margheria is the oldest cru of Cantina Luigi Pira with vines now over 50 years old. The 1.5 hectares of vineyard are planted in a calcareous-clayish soil, with western exposure, in Serralunga d’Alba. They give a classic and elegant Barolo, which is ready to drink a few years after release. The wine is aged in large wooden barrels for 24 months. Beautiful garnet red in colour the Barolo Margheria has a very intense and complex nose with notes of fruit and flowers and hints of leather and fresh hay. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, elegant, with pleasant tannins that are typical of the Nebbiolo grape. Pira’s Barolo Margheria is the perfect balance between tradition and innovation.
