Description

The Vilana grapes for this single vineyard Lyrarakis white wine are sourced from 30-year-old bush vines in the Pirovolikes vineyard. They have significant high natural acidity and aromatic concentration that is extracted by a skin contact of 16 hours. The must is fermented in a combination of both stainless steel and oak for 20 days and 35% of the wine went through malolactic fermentation. The wine matured in 500 litre, 400 litre and 225 litre new and re-used French, Acacia and Caucasian oak for 4 months prior to bottling. Pale yellow-straw colour the Vilana Pirovolikes Vineyard white wine displays aromas of minerals and slate, notes of saline. orange blossom and herbs with nice spice from the oak. Fresh, full flavoured mouth-filling palate with crispy acidity, underlined by a long fruity and slightly creamy aftertaste.
